    Hi Greta,

This is excellent advice, for any teacher on the planet. I’m sharing it with my PLN. I’m sure many teachers will find this not only wise, not only insightful, but useful in a very practical way!

I’m a student at the University of the South Alabama taking EDM310. I loved your presentation;after taking a few education classes and being in the classroom for a semester I agree that making the classroom a safe environment is key to getting students to achieve. I also think that making learning fun will create an atmosphere that will be more open to discussion and critical thinking, which is so important to get students excited to learn.

Thanks so much Kayla! A safe learning environment is key. It helps motivate students to learn. We need to foster the love for learning in our students. Love for learning is essential in today’s world! So glad you liked my presentation! I really appreciate your words! Thanks again!

Hello Greta, I’m a student at the University of South Alabama; I’m an education and social science major. Currently I am in an educational technology class taught by Dr. John Strange known as edm310.
I really agree that students need to be comfortable to be able to learn, because that is my personal experience as well. I work and learn much better when I feel comfortable in college, so I assume that this is even more important for grade school education.
    Thank you,
    Kevin White

Hi Kevin! Thanks so much for checking out my blog! I totally agree with you, we work and learn much better when we feel comfortable. It is vital for elementary education, but it’s like that all the time. It doesn’t matter how old we are… Thanks again!

I really enjoyed your presentation; these are great things for teacher to keep in mind in order to facilitate a great classroom environmnet. I really enjoyed the idea of making it “our” classroom. A sense of shared community seems like a really great way to have more students involved in how the classroom operates.

    Ms. Greta,

I really enjoyed the entire presentation but the part I enjoyed the most was “our” classroom not “the” classroom. I am a very competitive person which is why I play sports, but I don’t think the classroom is a great place for competition. When students help each other like they’re a team the kids that understand the material can help the others that don’t quite get it just yet by telling them what helps them understand it. Sometime we as teachers may not be able to get our point across to every student, but another student may be able to get it across to them.

Thanks for your hard work. I hope to hear more of your thoughts later on in my teaching career. I will posting a summary of this post and one I have already commented on later tonight on My Blog, for Dr. Strange’s EDM310 class.
